How to Write a Dissertation or Thesis Paper
When Writing your Dissertation or Thesis Paper:
- Remember that copying from one source only is plagiarism, from 2 sources is compilation, from 3 sources is a dissertation;
- Do not write too long sentences. You are not writing a novel, and you are not Shakespeare. Too complicated language affects your reader like a red color affects a bull;
- The title of your dissertation is just like hat for a woman of a certain age: it should be decent, modest enough and should harmonize with its content;
- Do not think that all around you are foolish and you are the only sagacious guy in this world. Avoid personal pronouns. Change the forthputting phrases, like “I think”, into the modest ones “As it turned to be”, “It can be considered that”;
- Check the quality of your dissertation (thesis) paper by applying to your relatives, friends and colleagues. A good dissertation should call yawning and a deep sleep that follows yawning. The chapters calling joy, laugh, convulsions and a feeling of oppressive disturbance should be edited. Do not cheer up if your inexperienced listener says that he/she likes everything and everything is clear enough: it is one of the indicators of the possibility to be unapprehended by the dissertation or thesis committee members.
When Defending your Dissertation or Thesis Paper
- You do not have the most dangerous enemy at your defense, than yourself. Students tend to mutilate the information accurate within the effect of a distorting mirror;
- Repeatedly practice your speech at home. Gather a number of the most successful formulations, facts, jokes and anecdotes. Tell them as if they have just come up to your mind.
After a successfully given speech at your dissertation or thesis paper defense presentation organize a party with your friends. Good luck!
