Dissertation and thesis paper: is there any difference?

It is considered that the dissertation and thesis papers are almost similar. The student often cannot see any difference between them. The dissertation paper has more practical nature, while the thesis paper is related closer to the theoretical research. If you compose a dissertation, you will have to perform some practical experiments. And the thesis paper will force you to conduct a deep theoretical study.

Maybe this difference does not seem to be too significant to you. However, if you try to compose both thesis and dissertation, you will feel this difference sharply, because it is really great. So, you should not say that the dissertation and the thesis papers are similar. They differ a lot, and it is very important to remember about it, especially if you face the necessity to make a choice between them.
